The Walker Scottish Rite Clinic at Maryville University is a non-profit 501(c) (3) charity organization. The Clinic has been a valuable resource for parents of children with speech and language disorders since 1988. The Clinic serves children in six clinical locations; St. Louis City (Scottish Rite Cathedral) and County (Maryville University), Arnold (Jefferson County Health Department), Troy (Lincoln County Health Department) and Union (Crider Health Center) and services in one Head Start preschool in the City of St. Louis (SouthSide Early Childhood Center). Each child is served by a Masters-level speech and language pathologist who is certified by the American Speech-Language-Hearing Association (ASHA) and the Hanen Centre as well as being licensed by the Missouri State Board of Healing Arts. Therapy sessions are tailored to each child’s particular needs. Services include screenings, evaluations, individual and group therapy, audiological evaluations, and parent training. All services are provided free.
Overall, 777 children received services at the Clinic in 2015. To have a child screened at the Clinic, please call 314.529.9200 to set up an appointment. All services are provided at no cost to the families.
