Program Goals

The Walker Scottish Rite Clinic’s program addresses the needs of children who are at risk of school failure because of communication impairments. Many children have problems that are not severe enough to allow them to receive services provided by state funded programs or do not have insurance that covers the cost of private therapy.

Because of the free services available at the Clinic, many children in the Greater St. Louis area who would not otherwise be able to receive assistance get the help they need. This goal is achieved through early identification and long-term therapy and by training parents in techniques to use with their children at home.
